Parking Eye

Hi, I have received a parking charge from Parking Eye. My son attends swimming lessons at a gym in a hotel by Edinburgh Airport. On one occasion, I forgot to sign in as a guest with the gym. Shortly after, I received the parking charge. I appealed via POPLA explaining the situation and this was rejected. I then appealed to Parking Eye directly attaching evidence in the form of my son's swimming schedule. They also have rejected this. I received a final notice which cited examples of people who ignored parking charges and lost court cases, having to stump up tens of thousands. At the moment, I am still not paying as I have been able to provide evidence I was a legitimate guest. Can anyone offer advice please? I am unable to speak directly to Parking Eye as it all seems to be automated.

You are in Scotland, so you were meant to ignore a PCN in 2023 and certainly NOT say who was driving! No appeal, nothing. Ignore!
The law will change in 2024 but at the moment, Scotland doesn't have 'keeper liability' so the advice is to ignore it, even now.I received a final notice which cited examples of people who ignored parking charges and lost court cases, having to stump up tens of thousands.OK so they tried to scare you with the Carly Mackie case. She had dozens of PCNs and had wilfully parked again and again, knowing it was unauthorised.
Her case was a one-off to scare others and wasn't a single PCN. Nor was it a ParkingEye PCN. They never sue in Scotland.
Ignore ALL letters from Debt Recovery Plus and CST Law, or DCB et al.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have a current dispute at the moment I was parked on a road in Bolton hospital grounds between 2 staff car parks. They have tried to fine me for parking on either one or the other of the car parks. Popla rejected my appeal so quite happy to go to court as they only have pictures of me driving up and down the road. Maybe I should report it to the police as fraud.0

If you dont want to go to Court there are other ways to get Parking Eye attention. The official routes dont work because there is no financial incentive for the Company to respond.0
