Rogue roofers

Roofers who I realised were cowboys (I believe they were travellers) and told them to go after they were botching up replacing ridge roof tiles. They have left ladders behind on my property and after requesting twice by text to collect their equipment, have not done so. Am I entitled to dispose of it?

Where are the ladders? Are they accessible / visible from the public road in front of your house or did the roofers secure them around the back?
if visible and unsecured, I’d put them out on the pavement. They hopefully won’t take long to disappear.
I know some people on here might point out that legally you cannot just dispose of them, but unsecured ladders often get stolen.

If they left them behind chances are they didn't pay for them anyway...DRP said:Where are the ladders? Are they accessible / visible from the public road in front of your house or did the roofers secure them around the back?

When people leave plant on-site, they sometimes turn up when nobodys in and help themselves to some extra things. It doesn't always draw suspicion from neighbours.1

If they're unsecured, I would just pop them out on the front and leave them there. You don't want them lying around too much just in case someone decides to use them to get into your property or cause damage.I hope you manage to get the roof sorted.Save £12k in 2019 #154 - £14,826.60/£12kSave £12k in 2020 #128 - £4,155.62/£10k1

Thankyou all for responding. The ladders, are left on my drive at the side. The driveway is open, not gated and the stuff could easily be taken, hopefully. However no takers so far. Its been a couple of months now since the stuff was left and I did wonder where they got them from!
The roof did get repaired by a builder working on another house.0 -
My client who had a rouge builder that left his cement mixer on site for seven months, it went missing on a Sunday and he turned up on the Monday asking about it, to much of a coincidence for me but I’d watch out for something similar.Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'1
