What to tell minor beneficiaries

Options
I'm getting toward the end of the executor process now and am not far from being able to distribute the bulk of the cash estate.

Some of the beneficiaries are minors and the will says their legacies are to be held on trust until they are 18, which is fine.  One of the parents who is also named as an executor and trustee at this point doesn't want their minor children to know anything other than they have been left "some" money that they'll be able to access to pay for education or training when they are older (the will doesn't say this, it just says until they are 18, though I know that was the testator's wish).

I have done all the executor work so though I will agree with the other named executors before doing anything, it falls to me and I want to make sure I get it right in exactly what I communicate to whom and when, and what my obligations are in this regard.

The beneficiaries in question are some years from 18 but not infants, so could certainly understand "you have been left £xxxx which you will not be able to access until you are 18".
