Energy standing charges compared
Comments
-
Octopus have for a few years offered standing charges c.4% below the cap, I'm not sure if that's still the case with the latest price change.
Utilita I believe have a 0 standing charge tariff (it's loaded onto the first 2 kWh) but I don't know if it's still available nor how the unit rates of >2kWh work out.
Beyond that I think it's probably a case of finding if any fixes are offered.
Octopus rates are here https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-price-cap-july-2023/ (scroll down a fair way)
And should you decide to switch to any particular supplier, see if they do a referral scheme (I know Octopus do as we each have a code, Eon do as well but I don't know about others).0 -
Utility Warehouse offer cheaper standing charges on their variable tariffs although to get the bigger discounts you need to take additional services.0
