MILLION POUND MOTORHOMES S3 COMPETITION 1 – ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Competition closes at 12:00 (Midday) on 17.10.2023 and 3 working days later for postal entries

1) The prize is for four (4) people and comprises:

a) Return economy class flights from London to Los Angeles

b) A fuel allowance of £500 and pitch allowance of £250 made payable to the winner in the form of a BACS transfer;

c) (i) Seven (7) night hire of an El Monte RV Class C Medium or Large Motorhome (based on availability) (collection/drop off in Sante Fe Springs, Los Angeles) sleeping up to four adults with a Personal Convenience Kit and Kitchen Kit including:

Bedding;

Cooking equipment and cooking gas;

Crockery and cutlery;

Kettle and Dutch Oven.

(ii)  Kit items and quantities may vary by location. Items may be substituted without notice. Kit items are for rent and must be returned to rental locations

2) The prize winner must book their trip within 28 days of their congratulations e-mail from Element being sent and at least six weeks in advance of their preferred departure date or the prize may be forfeited.

3) The prize must be taken and completed within 12 months of the congratulations email from Element being sent. The trip cannot be taken during any UK or US Public Holidays (10th, 23rd and 24th November 2023; 15th January 2024; 19th February 2024; 29th March 2024 to 1st April 2024 (Easter), 6th and 27th May 2024, 19th June 2024; 4th July 2024; 11th, 28th and 29th November 2024), 1st August 2023 to 7th September 2023 or from 19th December 2023 to 4th January 2024. The prize and its components are subject to availability.

4) Flights may be indirect, and the routing will be determined by the prize provider.

5) The prize winner and their companions must hold current and valid passports and any other relevant travel documentation required for travel to and entry into USA. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to organise and pay costs associated with obtaining visas for themselves and their companions. Passports must be valid for travel with a minimum of six (6) months on the date of departure from the UK when taking up the trip. For the latest advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on travel to USA, including security and local laws, plus passport and visa information, check www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.

6) Travel insurance is not included but it is strongly advised for travel. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to organise and pay costs associated with obtaining appropriate travel insurance for themselves and their companion.

7) It is the responsibility of the prize winner to ensure that they and/or their companions adhere to the local laws in USA. It is highly recommended that the prize winner and their companion obtain advice from a medical professional in advance of travelling and ensure that vaccinations are up to date.

8) The designated motorhome driver must be over the age of 21 and hold a full valid driving licence from country of residence and current identification including passport. A security deposit of $1000 on a major non-debit credit card will also be required from the designated driver. The security deposit is required upon booking and will be returned when the motorhome is dropped off at the end of the holiday with a full tank of fuel (motorhome will be provided with a full tank of fuel at start of hire). The pre-authorization may take up to 7-10 business days to be released. Rental includes insurance. The motorhome can only be used in mainland USA. Winner will be responsible for providing their own fuel, as well as covering any and all damage to the unit.

9) Vehicle pick up time is after 13:00 (1pm local time) based on vehicle readiness. Return time is between 08:00AM and 11:00AM. Returning late will be charged at $50 or more per hour. Rental vehicle must be returned in clean condition with a full tank of fuel.

10) Where the prize winner is under 18 years old, he/she must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 21 or over who meets the designated driver criteria in order to hire the motorhome.

11) It is the responsibility of the prize winner to inform the prize provider of any wheelchair or similar access requirements for the prize winner and his/her companion when taking the prize, and to adhere to any applicable health and safety guidelines.

12) The prize excludes any ground transfers, additional meals, drinks, excursions, attractions, gratuities, personal expenses, travel insurance and all other costs and arrangements not expressly included in the prize. 

13) The prize and all its elements are subject to availability. Neither Channel 5 nor Element will accept responsibility for the accommodation or any facilities being unavailable, withdrawn or amended.

14) There is no cash alternative or refund for unused portions of the prize.

15) Any amendments made by the prize winner after the booking is confirmed may be subject to administration charges levied by the specific supplier. Any such charges will be the responsibility of the prize winner.

16) Video footage kindly provided by THL and El Monte RV.  

17) Allowance towards fuel and pitch fees will be provided to the winner only. The allowance will be made payable to the winner within 14 days of the motorhome holiday being booked by the prize provider as a BACS transfer. Neither Channel 5 nor the prize provider are responsible for organising ground travel arrangements for this prize, it will be the prize winner’s responsibility to organise this appropriately throughout their stay unless otherwise stated.
