Is it OK to waste electricity when Agile prices are negative?

And the answer to that is in my book remains a resounding no.
And the alternative is that the National Grid pays a constraint payment to another wind farm operator. A number of wind farms are now receiving constraint payments which are higher than the agreed contract price because of the way that contracts and constraint payments are now constructed.
It is worth pointing out that the UK is not alone in paying constraint payments. Sadly, whenever freebies are offered, some consumers will exploit it to get a few £s extra credit.
I could also complain that even with a smart meter I don’t benefit financially from Demand Flexibility events as I have invested £000s in PV solar and a battery which means that my Grid usage from 4 to 7pm is zero. So it could be argued that I am being penalised for helping out the Grid. That said, I am aware that there are ways of gaining the system which many people do.

That could be changed starting tomorrow if there was the will.
When the £100s of millions become £10s billions then it might even get some proper attention.
But the current and past Uk govt and the UK civil service if asked to renegotiate seem pretty inept so not holding my breath.
I suggest a new tax regime might be a way of avoiding the recent failure to renegotiate.
Akin to that for NSea oil and gas production - but without the myriad reliefs.
Starting with 100% on all such constraint payments.

Grid paying more to dump excess energy into other countries.
......Recently it has been noticed that the National Grid ESO has been paying high amounts to dispose of energy in neighbouring EU countries. This raises concerns over energy management from the grid as the ESO has spent up to £550/MWh to dispose of excess power into other European countries.
..... ...... ......... .......... .......... ..... ........ .
.....“This kind of high price reversal event is likely to occur on any sunny weekends this summer. As a response to the high energy prices last year, industrial and domestic consumers in Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands and France have responded by installing solar panels; this has resulted in a big increase in solar generation on sunny days. .............
