I think that is intentional to get people used to the idea they'll pick up from like the other couriers do, although if they ever go back to charging for collection (they keep extending the free collection promotion) I don't think they'd be allowed to operate this way, although they aren't allowed to have an end date for a promotion that doesn't end on that date but there you go!Buster_Danog said:To go on a slight rant both websites seem badly desgined for the user experience. Even the non business version of the site defaults to a Royal Mail parcel collection page where you have the ability to select the day of collection. It is only on the next stage of the order process that it is apparent you can opt out of this but it feels like you are opted in by default. It's no wonder I always used the business version of the site despite being registered on both.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
I'm honestly not even sure which site I was using, I started off on the personal one, then every link just seemed to take me to a page for information for businesses! Incredibly frustrating, hence giving up and phoning them. The advisor was very helpful but as you say the website is rubbish and it's impossible to use. I don't understand why they are missing such a simple bit of information that no doubt a lot of customers are going to have!Buster_Danog said:HammerTiime said:Also just as I posted that comment I had an email from RM telling me I've been charged a supplementary fee of 16p. So hopefully that is helpful for you all, now I can stop panicking 😊Presumably you are then using the which goes to a business URL. Maybe they have the same ability with Paypal payments then. However, it is not good form for them not to make this clear. To go on a slight rant both websites seem badly desgined for the user experience. The collection option is very annoying, it does say in the info pages that you can remove the collection if you plan on dropping in but this isn't shown as part of the process when buying the postage so if you weren't already aware, you'd feel pressured into it!1
