    OP, the falling may not have been caused by a stroke. You have similar neurological conditions to mine, but I have not had a stroke and do not have drop foot.

    I had extreme sciatica ,worse than on other occasions and was admitted to A&E exactly 3 years ago and was shown to have a 'slipped disc', but with Covid, admin mistakes and a dispute between GP and surgeon over treatment of my tachycardia, the operation wasn't until the end of last November. I did know by then that my problem wasn't from the disc, but from spinal stenosis (overgrowth of vertebral bone, causing nerve compression).

    Before I could walk, until pain, then my husband grabbed me, but now I can stagger (not actual walk ) a few tiny steps and can't stand for over a minute without consequences. My left leg can go rigid, pushing me over to the left or both legs slowly fold. My problem is caused by nerve damage, I think because of the long wait for surgery.
