One call pay as you drive

I need to renew my car insurance in a week and looking to change insurance companies. I'm currently with Co-op who have quoted me £600 for a renewal, so am obviously changing. I'm a woman, had my license for 18 years, no points at the moment although I have in the past, no claims in the last five years, with an 8 year protected no claims bonus. I drive about 2,000 miles a year.
One call insurance pay as you drive has come up as a cheap option, which apparently does what it says - you pay a certain amount per year (£100, in my case) and then an amount per mile, charged on a monthly basis. I can't find out how much that charge per mile actually is at the moment, so won't be signing up until I can confirm that!
Has anyone else tried this company or this approach to insurance please? It's sounding a bit too good to be true for someone who doesn't drive often, so I'm suspicious!

I don’t know this company, but that’s how I pay for my insurance with Bymiles.
£105 for fully comp, protected bonus, hire car, legal etc.
Then I’m charged 9.3p a mile, bill on the 28th of the month like a mobile.
Two things to find out before taking out the policy.
As you stated , the per mile charge.
Plus the max milage they charge per day.
By miles is 150 miles a day max charge.
For me it’s £13.95.
I do mostly short journeys, but last year I had to go on 10 x 550 mile round trips on the day.
It was nice to to only pay the max daily charge of £13.95.

It was nice to to only pay the max daily charge of £13.95.5,500 miles in 24hours, that is an average of 229 mph!(I suspect you have a power of 10 error, even so 550 in one day takes some doing)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Thanks, I'll take a look at Bymiles! I don't particularly like how difficult it is to find out about the per mile charge for One Call.
