British Gas Homecare summer sale

I see British Gas Homecare are offering reduced prices on boiler servicing until early September, presumably to encourage people to get their boiler serviced before the weather gets colder.

Again until early September, they're also offering reduced prices on Homecare cover for boilers/central heating/plumbing/electricals.  The website is very confusing on this: it implies that you can get a discount of about £8 per month on the various levels of cover - which confusingly have been renamed Essential, Classic and Complete - along with a £0 excess, but when I tried it I could only get those rates if I accepted a £60 excess.  Also, the calculator on their website comes up with different results depending on how you try to do the calculation: for example, when I went for the basic offer for Essential it then offered me to upgrade to Classic for an extra amount, then offered another upgrade to Complete for an extra 40 p per month, and that turned out to be rather cheaper than simply selecting Complete in the first place!  Distinctly confusing!
