in Credit cards
Hi,
My wife is new to the UK and want to build her credit. However every item that requires a contract requires at least 3 year address history in the UK. is there anyway to bypass.
Also, to register on electoral roll, you need to be a fully british citizen, which she isnt yet, how can we get the credit agencies to miss that until she is
thanks for your help.

She can be on the electoral register if she has a nin insurance number, I believe she is here on a spouse visa that gives her more rights as well0

Store cards or credit accounts can be easier to get for building some history.
Argos, Very, Next etc.
Also, a current account with an overdraft.
Cheap SIM-only mobile contracts.

If she's new to the UK is she in need of summer/winter clothes? Depending where she was before.
Then start with a store card. Sales on the way then winter clothes.
Any extras you need for the house with 2of you together. Put them all on card and get them paid off.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

For example EU citizens and Commonwealth citizens can go onto the electoral register.
Even more wide open is this
- a citizen of another country living in Scotland or Wales who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, or who does not need permission

So wife is from Morocco, so not eligible to vote until naturalised with British passport .
Have gone to the gov vote eligibility dite
Have tried all major credit card outlets and stores, however they all require at least 2 years UK living history.
Any other suggestions to build her credit .. even buying a phone contract online needs some history1 -
Have you tried credit builder cards? Higher interest but less stringent about who they give them to.0
