Using the advice given on here (should have read it a few months ago) I have complained to the retail centre and they have agreed to cancel the charge.
After explaining why we were a few minutes over the hour we paid for, in their reply ECP gave me evidence back that we had paid £1 for a 1 hour, 80p charge (no change given). I thought this was hilarious that they proved we had overpaid, but would they back down, no they bloody wouldn't, neither would they answer my question why not. Just the constant barrage of letters.
Looking online there are many people having the same issues with ECP and putting people off using the shops, so I hope this hits home for them.
So another strike to us, thanks to all for all the work that goes into keeping us all informed.
