Apple Education discount - AppleCare+

Hi All,

I work in education and am looking to upgrade my three year old MacBook. The best prices appear this time of year and right now I can get 20% off Applecare - plus if I buy a new MacBook I then get sent a £130 gift card.

It seems I can buy AppleCare+ for the new machine up to 6 weeks after purchase, so I hope that I can get it with 20% off (so £199) and then also use my £130 giftcard to drop the price to £69.

I've read online about some people having issues using the giftcard online last year, and having to go to an Apple Store to do it. This seems to be mostly in the US though, so I'm hoping not an issue here.

Has anyone done this? Can you confirm it works as I suggest?

I'm wondering the same. I wanted to get an iPad and possibly use the voucher for an Apple Pencil. 

I don't think the you get the promotion and discount when buying refurbs but not sure if the voucher can be put towards purchasing a refurb once you have it?

I agree, I don’t think you can get discount or giftcard when buying a refurb. But I don’t see why, once you have the voucher, you couldn’t use it towards buying anything from the Apple Store.  

I’ve been told I can use the voucher towards AppleCare, but I’m just not sure if I can get the 20% student discount as well as the voucher - or if I can do any of that online. 

It doesn’t seem like anyone here has advice or insight into this though.
