New Laptop Recommendations

Hi all,
I'm buying a new laptop and was wondering if any of your had any recommendations? I've been looking at PC World but there are too many to choose from. I did go into a store this week but the waiting time was over 2 hours and I didn't have time.
I'm happy to spend up to £1000.
I will be using it for work, mainly using Microsoft Office, the internet and Teams.
I also watch a movie here and there - this one is 14.5" which is perfect.
I would really like a quiet laptop with good battery life.
In the past I've had a Sony one, a Samsung one and the last one was an Asus one. I'm currently using my nephews Asus one.
I'm happy to buy from anywhere just not John Lewis.
Thanks if you can help and thanks if you can't :-)

My wife has an Intel NUC M15.
She mainly uses it for Office and browsing and it handles that well.
It has more then enough power for Office and Teams and a nice screen for playing movies.
Obviously the screen is 1 inch bigger than your current laptop. She rarely runs it on battery, so I can't comment on battery life.It does not have an SD card reader and the number of USB ports won't be sufficient for some people.

Thank you both. I got the Asus Zenbook. It's very snazzy. Thanks for recommending it to me. I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise.0

With a grand to spend you could spec up a really good Dell ;aptop from them direct.

That's the one I got. It's really snazzy. It doesn't make much noise and the battery goes on and on on and on.Bonhomie said:
