    Rent continues to be due until the tenancy is actually ended - if you're arguing this S21 is invalid, then the tenancy continues, so rent continues. You pay the full month for the month it expires and thereafter.

    Others have correctly differentiated between 'illegal' and 'invalid'. It may seem like semantics, but for others reading this thread the difference could be important.
