Morning everyone
Bright here this morning but forecast to rain later - that seems to be the forecast for the next 2 weeks.
Little one came back with me after nursery yesterday as DD wasn't feeling well. I walked her home after tea - she has a new outdoor kitchen so we collected pine cones and little sticks for her to 'cook' on the old pans I'd found in the back of one of my kitchen cupboard. I got her washed and sorted and she jumped into bed with her mummy.
Yesterday at nursery I dug up our potatoes 'helped' by the children - we had loads this year and we divided them up so they all had a little bag to take home. We've also grown 8 strawberries! The children we had in the afternoon got 1 each.
Work at lunchtime then little one is staying tonight - she wants to go to the library tomorrow as we haven't been for a while.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning to do his banking - he likes it done the day the pensions go in!
Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Coxy, enjoy KP, there's a lot to appreciate, especially the wallpaper & toilet door signs downstairs 😉😁
Izzy, why not take photos before you start clearing up after her? Can't wait to find out if she gets up for the decorator to do the bedrooms!
Safe travels for those on the move today. I'm not going anywhere, I have a bit of admin to do and will watch the rain when it arrives!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good morning everyone
Currently very rainy here and no sign of it stopping any time soon.
We've been pushing DDs bedtime an hour later to try and get her to sleep a little later in the morning. the 4.30-5.30 mornings have been tough over the last few weeks. its taken some time but todays 6am wake up for her felt amazing. I'm an early bird myself and usually up at 4/4.30am to give my mind a break as its the only time i used to have to myself. I feel a little better mentally in myself just having that little extra time to wake up and get ready. i guess i'll find out tomorrow if it was a fluke or if the later bedtime is actually helping.
Not sure what is in store for today. I've only got one experiment to prepare for Monday so I'll be doing some of the background jobs ready for September when I'm not here . They haven't managed to replace me so our department will be down to one person. I'm trying to think of things that will support the other person when I'm gone.
Food wise I'm not sure. We usually have chippy on a Friday but I'll ask DH and see what he wants. I actually get to see him this tonight which will be nice.
Gers have a good journey home. I bet it will be nice to sleep in your own bed again
Suffolksue I'm sorry to hear the hospital are messing you around. That's so frustrating
Izzy that granddaughter sounds like a nightmare. I wonder if shell get the house tidy in time for them coming back
Coxy, I've always wanted to go to Kensington palace...maybe i can do some home ed lessons on the royal family and do some trips. I think that covers british history right?
I hope everyone who is off travelling has an amazing time and sending hugs to anyone who needs them

Morning all, well the rain dance I did for yesterday didn't work 🤨 We spent 3 hrs at the sport's day and sitting on a sloping grass bank does nothing for the rear end, mine was numb by the end of the morning. DGD couldn't get her skipping rope to behave but she was like lightening when running and brought home her team to victory, move over U. Bolt 🏃♀️. By the time we returned home my bedding and a clothes wash had thankfully dried outside too.
Today it's pouring down (a day too late 😠) and it's dark, grey and soggy and we're on a weather warning from today till Monday.
Today I'm having a day to myself so I think I'll start a new jigsaw, that'll keep me entertained for most of the day.
Happy wanderings to those going on holiday and safe journey home to those returning.
Izzy I know what I would say if she girl was wrecking my house. Good idea to take some photos before you clean up, sorry can't remember who suggested that.
Take care all.

Morning..I'm about to phone the window company, I noticed a discrepancy of a thousand pounds yesterday which put the wind up me but looking at it, it looks like a misskeystroke, because the total is right, just the payments have an extra grand [not blummin well paying that!]. When I lived in my flat, I covered the front door with orange fabric from Ikea with birds and all sorts on it, I'd totally forgotten that till now, maybe the orange was subconciously from that..OH picked it too though with no prompting from me..Tomorrow a plumber is coming to cap off some radiators, so today will be removing the stuff in front of the windows. Despite all the decluttering and tip runs, the house is still too crowded for my liking but I am the cause of most of the overcrowding so I'd better go through it again. I did get rid of some kitchen stuff yesterday though which is big but baby steps considering what I have and took some bacon out of the freezer for sandwiches for them next week.Gers, safe driving! Scarlet, hope the hairdresser was ok, sometimes stuff just happens...have a lovely time away! Iris, I hope you're walking in French
TA, I'd imagine the caravan site has become a designated no go zone for wildlife..but there could any number of reasons, like their food has moved away..Suffolksue, shame about the appointment, fingers crossed for rapid response...bella, happy birthday to dd1! Coxy, enjoy! that sounds like a great day out, I'd really enjoy that, it's been ages since I went to a museum or an exhibition..I am green with envy
Izzy, I did have a smile at the neighbours watering the plants anyway..And if you do get to clean, do only what you would normally do, don't go all overboard, because there's a lesson there for the GD if she's hoping someone will come and wash away her sins...dp1, how lovely that your nursery can grow some food, get them indoctrinated early I say! Floss, enjoy a day of recuperation...glad to see you taking it easy. nanny, your rain dance did work, but it was a hundred miles off...So take care all, it's a wet one here, boo! so stay dry and warm..

Good morning chums from a wet and windy Isle of Wight . We’re on our way home today and hopefully will get home by 4.30 as we’re on the 1.00 pm ferry to Portsmouth . Sad to leave our beloved island and two fold today as its 20 years since we lost my lovely husband. But I’m in myDDs car and we will share lots of good memories together on the way home13

Morning all from a soggy Mehefinland
we have had rain in biblical proportions over night and through this morning. The nags were not impressed when turned out a 7.15 this morning. Mrs M prevailed upon me to go check on them about 10.00 ( she was 'working' from home pah!)and I nearly got mown down in the rush to come in to the barn. 3 very soggy horses dripping all over the bedding.
Discovered we have a leak in the roof too. A small but steady drip in the kitchen, so that will be a sorty into the loft and onto the roof to try and find the spot. It only seems to occur when the wind is coming from the south east. Unfortunately as we have a bungalow it is a huge roof to try and find a very small leak. 1st world problems I know! Forecast very strong winds too so no doubt that will make matters worse.
Farrier due this afternoon if he doesn't decide to cancel. At least he will be in the dry.
No other news. Have a safe day
Hugs and spoons as always

Hi chums arrived home safe and sound, although the traffic was pretty horrendous joining the M25 from the A3 and once on there was quite busty ,but then again Friday afternoons always are.
After delivering their stuff from my car I drove mine home and got all the smaller stuff in bags out, but the big heavy grip can wait until tomorrow I can manage without the stuff in it tonight .
We went to Biddlescombe Farm on the way to the ferry, and I got some lovely fresh veg and eggs and treated my DD to a litre of Guernsey milk, and a bottle of their Guernsey double cream for Sunday dessert. Bought 6 huge fresh free range eggs as well, the stuff wasn't cheap (6 eggs £2,75) but its a fantastic farm and was the one featured on the Alan Titmarsh programme about the Isle of Wight, and when you go there you can actually see the animals that the food comes from.
Got some nice tomatoes as other fresh veg as well, but it means with what i have already in store I don't need to trail around the supermarket tomorrow. So its feet up and relax for me tonight as I'm feeling quite flagged out.
My Dr has changed some of my heart meds, and one of the side effects until they acclimatise to the change is feeling tired, but she said they were better for me, so to try and do a bit less for a week or so.
I had the hospital letter when I got home so 17 more days fingers crossed and I'll have my op. and hopefully be a lot more energetic.
DD and I shared a good few memories of her Dad on the way home, as its the anniversary of losing him, and we remembered what fun he was to be with. Roll on next year and fingers crossed this time next year we shall be living over there permanently She has such good memories of king to the Island as that was where my late husband was born and brought up, and she spent a lot of her childhood visiting her Nanny there with her sister. So its quite a special place for us.
I'm just going to have a cuppa and my eldest DD put a piece of my youngest granddaughters birthday cake in a tin for me (she was 30 while I was away on holiday ) so I may have a small slice of that as well.
Hope the weather brightens up for folk over the weekend as its been cats and dogs all day, but not cold at least
Take care chums
