Do I really save 30%-40% by switching now ?

Hello All

So I finally got round to looking at my bills. I'm with Eon with their Next Flex tarif. A quick search on a comparison site showed Utility Warehouse might be massively cheaper. This shocked me as I thought it wasn't worth switching at the moment - even the MSE Energy club is closed.

Before I press the button and switch have I got it right that my savings could be that big?

The per unit electricity costs are I think 64.4 for Eon and 30.3 for UW.
The per unit gas costs are 12.1 and 7.6
Standing charge about the same.

Also, should I consider other suppliers? I have a feeling the issue isn't that UW is so great but more that my existing tariff is awful and so I'd happily pay a tiny bit more if I was switching to a company with good customer service etc.

Which tariff are you on with Eon? Those figures sound far too high to be correct.

sorry. Next flex tariff, you said. I'll look it up.

You seem to be using old prices for E.On; verify them independently.
You also have to take other UW services so the overall savings may be less than you think.

I'd check again on the numbers you seem to think Eon Next are charging you.  You will find the details in your online account under the tariff section.  What region are you in and are you paying via DD?

You need to be absolutely sure of these numbers before taking the plunge.  Also UW bundle other services together...

Thanks a lot for the lightning fast replies. The figures I quoted I lifted off my pdf bill.

Ahh hang on  - my Eon account says 30.29 for electricity and 7.61 for gas so maybe it just decreased quite a lot. Those higher figures above were for bills covering earlier this year

Does the billing period start from 1 July 23?  If not, the prices are historical.

Actually the higher amounts seem to be covering right up until June 30 2023.

The figures from your bill will no doubt be the rates that existed pre-July 1st which were considerably more than they are now.  So either check your online account to check what you are NOW paying or use the link provided in the previous post.
