Electric meter re-started

A couple of months ago my digital electric meter (not smart) became stuck, the led light stopped flashing and numbers remained the same, I notified my provider. The other day there was a power cut, and now the meter is working again! LED light is flashing and reading is higher. Not sure if it was before the power cut, or a coincidence as I've only checked it once a fortnight or so.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Should I be concerned that there could be fault, and it could start going faster, or it could just be a fluke?

Check the new readings carefully.

You might be lucky and find that the meter readings are consistent with what you would expect, but you might not.

I'd still be pressing my supplier to replace the meter, as it has shown itself to be unreliable.

Thanks for that, I'll check the meter readings in a couple of weeks to give it a months usage. 
I did check the meter the other day by switching off the power on the consumer unit for 5 mins, and watching it, no LED flash.
