Wren Kitchens - anyone haggle a decent discount?

We've designed a kitchen with Wren who have priced it up at £15k.

This is down from £28k before their "sales" that never ends...

The units alone are £10k for 17 units which is nearly £600 a unit. I think that's very expensive for MDF.

They are telling us that they don't negotiate any more and the prices are what they are but I can't see this as being true.

Can anyone share their experience with Wren and pricing before we walk away?

We had this with wren was 30k before they pressed their magic bottom and got it down to 17k. You can safely say we didn't use them and ended up purchasing part of our kitchen from diykitchens. But if we had gone for the same plan for the whole of what wren priced us for it would have only been 6.5k from diykitchens.

Not many people with a good word to say about Wren.

The only person I know who is happy with their kitchen was one of their store managers and even we fitted his kitchen for him, not the people that work for them.

And he resigned shortly after, which says something 😬

Wren typically over quote for everything, then offer you a big discount ( to the real price ) to make you think you are getting a bargain..

I know someone who had a Wren kitchen recently and was very happy with it, and the fitting.  From what he said they're a bit like those carpet shops where you buy the carpet and pay a self-employed fitter as part of the deal - in other words the fitters are not directly employed by Wren.

The chap I know is quite wealthy though so probably wouldn't have been too concerned about the cost.

My brother-in-law is a builder and was contacted by a potential customer who had already order their kitchen from Wren and wanted him to install it.  Delivery date was November last year, it finally arrived in May this year and was still incomplete.

My daughter used to work for Wren in their "Customer Care" team - it was so badly managed and unbelievably disjointed (no one person deals with a post install query from start to finish). She left after 3 months.

I got my kitchen from DIY Kitchens and have been so pleased with the results - a fraction of the comparable Wren price and no hiccups during self-design and delivery stages. My joiner commented that they were much better quality than a Wren kitchen he'd fitted a few months earlier - this was in 2020 so things may have improved.
