How to find a thread via the search?

When I've used vbulletin boards - no problem.
Right now I'm trying to find a specific thread I made just to check something. I know what forum it's in so while I don't remember anything like the thread title, if I brought up all threads I've posted within the forum then I'll be able to get it from that.
But the best I seem to be able to do is just bring up a list of threads I've made on the board.
So how do I do what I want to do?
* to avoid confusion as I know I call things different to what some/most/all others do....
The message board - to me is MSE. The board contains ALL the forums. Absolutely every single one.
Forum - is any specific forum on the board, including any sub forum of a forum.
So - I'm wanting to find a thread within a specific forum - for example, "Site feedback".

First of all, enter your search term in the search box and click 'search'
Then on the results screen click 'Threads' to narrow down the results.
This will then show some filters, including by 'category' where you can pick a specific board (eg 'Site Feedback').
Generally we refer to the whole site as the Forum, which then has subject-specific boards or categories within it. For historical reasons the terminology isn't totally consistent, as different software we have used at different times has had different conventions. We're trying to improve this.
So to us 'Site Feedback' isn't a forum, it's a board or a category within the overall Forum. But different people use these terms differently, and it's largely a matter of preference and what people are used to from other sites they use, etc.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -

In alphabetical order but stops at Deaths, funerals & probate.
So as I want to search in mortgages, it looks like I need to wait for the E-M option being included in the search.
I should add - I can't even go through my profile. Once I click on the threads I've started & go to "more discussions" at the bottom .... clicking this does absolutely diddly squat. I get the first round of results and nothing more than that.0 -

Thanks. I'll take a look after work.
Out of curiosity then, how come A-D are listed but the rest just aren't, you have to type their names?0
