Smart Prepayment Meter (maybe daft question)
Someone I know is having smart prepayment meters fitted. She is already on prepayment but her gas meter is inside where as the new one will be fitted outside and she will be topping up online.
I know nothing about prepayment meters and she is disabled, so I can't see her going outside to look at the meter.
So, now comes the daft question (maybe). How will she know when it needs to be topped up, will this be via the IHD?
I've seen so many posts on here where IHD information is incorrect, hence the question.

Thank you so much for that information. As she has used a key and card for so many years, I just hope she will be able to get her head round it.

Hopefully she isn't with Scottish Power as their 'Award Winning App' is absolute cr*p and they'll probably mess up the installation!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 March 2026

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.0
