Good morning everyone
thankyou Gers for starting us off. I'm just popping in quickly before work to say hi.
managed to get 2 loads of laundry done yesterday and put it on the airers and radiators (the heating is off, I just needed to put them somewhere). ill try and do some more today. i don't know where it all comes from. its never ending
Dinner is likely a ready meal again as there's no point cooking just for me. DD has dinner at nursery and DH sorts himself out. I really need to start making home made ones again though to make them healthier but these will do for now.
Apologies I've rambled on.
Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are up to xxWeight loss - 0/12 GC - July 142.01/£200 Happiness can be found in the darkest of places if only someone turns on the light12 -
I've had another hotel buffet breakfast and will shower once I've done a bit of digesting.Yesterday we had a really fabulous meal in a small country pub which specialises in steaks. I didn't have one but all those who did were very impressed. My pan fried chicken was equally delicious, all had fresh sauces. We left there so full. Then it was onto watching a cycling race as my nephew was marshalling. I ended up sitting in a chair on the grass verge of a corner. 😂 Later I dished out the free cakes to the riders. Not my usual evening activity. 😀
This morning I'll be back on the road, this time going north, aiming for Darlington to stay worn a second set of friends. Last lap before home tomorrow.I hope that everyone is well. Happy Thursday to all.11 -
Morning all
Its a bit overcast here atm but the sun is due out later I am off to collect Rob today and take him to work we are in the cafe today so will do some baking, it’s my last day of work for two weeks 😃 mind you they are expecting a heatwave in Greece next week of up to 45 deg 🥵 plenty of sitting in the shade with a cold beer I think !
Ive got some chicken breast out for dinner tonight will have a think during the day of how to cook them. I need to run the hoover round this morning before work.
Im going to start my packing tomorrow so that it’s not a mad rush Sunday everything is washed and ready and my DD is a brilliant packer so she will get me organised.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning All
It was bright and sunny earlier but has clouded over now, the washing may be coming back in soon!
Lovely drying day yesterday, thankfully I just brought it in when the heavens opened - glad I got the bedding dry.
Just some tidying up to do and the bathrooms to clean before I fly out to see DS2 and his DP this afternoon. I'm just about packed, already had a message from the airline to say the flight is full and I have to check my bag in, hope it's quick to arrive at the other end.
Sounds like a different evening for you Gers.
Happy holidays Ruby.
Hope your eye appt comes through soon Scarlet.
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning all, it looks a mixed weather day today, was lovely when I went out with the pooch but now it looks like rain.Gers sounds like you're having an interesting trip. I too felt tired yesterday, didn't go swimming...didn't do much actually and still fell asleep after my tea watching the news! Then of course I couldnt get to sleep last night.MMoo, most of us ramble on- don't worry about thatRR not long now, but those tempsI have a food delivery shortly, and I may nip into town to change my library books, I'll see what the weather does later.Taff, yes we are ' dedicated followers of fashion football'. Always watched our town team, then DS2 as a lad ,and now DGC, certainly keeps us busy and keeps us in touch with our wider football family/friendsTea will be something from the sm order , can't remember what I ordered tbhI hope everyone is ok x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
I'm feeling a bit more human after a couple of days of hardly being able to keep my eyes open.
I've been hanging out with Esben who has been reacquainting himself with some of his old toys which we unearthed for Esther. He's off to nursery soon and Steve has already gone golfing.
I've done a bit of housework but don't want to overdo it.
Have a good journey, Gers.
I hope the weather has cheered up for you TA.
Have a good day.11 -
PS. Hope you have a good trip to see DS and partner Camelot and no delays!

Morning..I finally managed to get my drugs and contact leneses so one more job ticked off the list. Did quite a lot of garden pottering and made some kimchi. I go in phases of cooking, I really fancy something from one country and make that to death until something else catches my fancy. I'm off to pay the second installment on the windows today, we've got a plumber coming on Saturday to remove the radiators that are poking into the windowsills and then the window people and the chimney sweep are coming Monday. The fire is empty for him, the wood has been restacked so it's not against the porch [ new porch too] and I've cleared space in front of one window and moved the sofa ready. I've made the prediction that there'll be a rash of new windows and doors in the street once we have ours done [ dark grey frames on everything, orange front door
] And then that's phase one of the house starting to be done properly. Just got to find a roofer now since the last one hasn't been in touch since he told me he was waiting on a quote fromthe scaffolders.
camelot, have lots of fun! Gers, safe driving, enjoy more different things! snoozer, take it easy to avoid a relapse! mucky, there's every point in cooking just for you, you just need some recipes that don't take very long, or can be defrosted in minutes. I usually fall back on one of my favourite quick meals and now I know the ready cooked chicken can just be taken out and defrosted, it's even quicker..Spicy chicken in a wrap. If you fancy the recipe, let me know. Or ramen, super quick and easy. Ruby, enjoy your two weeks off! My sister told me yesterday that we'll be sitting in the rain while Europe boils...Stay frosty! Rosy, it' sounds quite nice to have that social circle that has the potential to keep widening not narrowing too. I think I read somewhere once that in general the only people who increase their social circle as they age are the Greeks, everyone else's decreases..Something to think about.. nanny, nice to see you've burnt that hole in your pocket with some new toysIzzy, I bet you will be glad to be shot of him too, maybe suggest they take him to some training lessons and stop him waking you up so early! Anyway, take care all, hope it's dry for you!

Morning folks. A better day here with blue sky and sun - and that dratted wind has finally dropped a bit. Its not going to last though as forecast says rain is due back tomorrow. Where's it all coming from!
CAMELOT safe journey and hope you have a wonderful time. Eeek RUBY up to 45 deg! GERS safe drive up to Darlington. MM I brought 3 M & S ready meals to save cooking this week and I didn't enjoy any of them. Lesson learned, home made is best! Have a good day folks be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Thank you for starting us off Gers. Sounds like you're having an great trip.
It's the hairdressers for me today and a bit of shopping.
