    Thoughts:
    • You can often buy discount tickets at local stores rather than purchasing up-front here.
    • Kissimmee is a good location to stay.
    • You can rent a house, which gives your own space (unless you want to stay at a park hotel).
    • Rent a car (eg. a people carrier) - they're geared up for it and US driving is pretty easy (if 7-lane roads don't freak you out!).
    • perhaps don't buy loads of clothes here to take across, take the minimum and buy there.
    • Eating out is the thing to do: breakfast buffets, Dennys, etc. If you like pizza, go to Giordanos.

    7. any Negatives about August?
The most obvious negative about August is that it's less than three weeks away!  Not to say that it's not doable, but you've left it very late to start thinking about planning a first trip from scratch - many seasoned Florida regulars will book a year or more in advance.  In my view it's a very different type of holiday from most in that there is quite a lot to research and plan to get the best out of it, so if you're only at the stage of asking a long list of fairly open and basic questions, I'd suggest that it may be worth thinking about deferring the trip until later....

If you want to make the most of it, you need to plan. We go each year, and are already planning days out for April 2024. Going in less than 3 weeks is possible, as August tends to be Disney's quiet period due to the bad weather - but you've got a lot of research to do unless you're content to queue for hours for rides.

Depending on what you prefer to do, 2 weeks isn't a long time to see everything in Disney. You really need at least 2 days per park, plus you will want rest periods in between as it's hot, humid and lots of walking/queuing involved. It's exhausting trying to do all Disney and Universal parks in one trip, best to pick either Disney or Universal and do it properly.

August is the worst month in terms of heat, humidity and rain - if you can possibly go in October or March/April, wait and do it then. I wouldn't ever go in June-August - we went in September twice and weather was pretty rough then.

Food in Disney is ridiculously expensive, but with large portions. We found that 2 meals a day was enough. If you're really into food and drink check out the Disney Food Blog https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/

We prefer to stay at Disney hotels so we can easily walk to one of the parks, and use their free transportation to the other parks. You can choose the hotel depending on location to your preferred park and price. Found it cheaper to use Lyft/Uber for occasional trips outside of Disney than hiring a car for the whole holiday, and less stressful.

We always book through Virgin Holidays. Not the cheapest, but always get a good package deal with price match on park tickets. We're lucky in the UK that we're offered a 14 day Disney park ticket.

Everafterholidays are a great company to book through.
End of August is quieter as lots of the american kids are back in school.
I would check on the disney website if parks are available as you have to reserve the days you are going there and you may find as it's not too far away some days may be unavailable.

I agree with going to www.thedibb.co.uk and asking on there

Ok its 2 of us and we have until 10/11th of August we can do this.

    one day of research and..
    - Flights 1.8k
    - Car hire £300
    - 1st week accom £80 a night appt shared pool - £550
    - Disney Universal tickets for 2 - 1k in all (harry potter fan so focus is universal 2 parks fo as much as you like for 5 days (over an 8 day window) plus Epcot and another disney park one day each. If we LOVE, we stay longer than 1 week in orlando central
    - 2nd week hit the coast and beaches people watching - Sun. £700 budget accom.
    £4.5 k total approx

    Question is
    1. Tickets where is best to buy and are there known combos. cheaper better than Ive suggested above.
    2. Weather, how bad is august - most sites suggest short showers and thunderstorms - is that not true - whats the ratio of sun/rain and how bad is the humidity. We love heat.
    3. Availability im seeing as GREEN everywhere. Is there a one stop shop website that shows you - ive not seen anything that says you cant get. Does that mean you have to plan your whole time there tho for risk of getting there and you might have the pass but the park is already allocated.
    4. www.thedibb.co.uk - Im on the case!
