Child Trust Fund cash locked away.

Options
Just seen recent information posted regarding children with disabilities accessing money. My granddaughter has a trust fund with One Family.
Question; given this issue should we continue to pay into it, or should we start another form of savings for her?

You don't say whether your granddaughter is disabled in a way which will foreseeably leave her unable to manage her own finances and accounts - or are you just nervous following the news?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

If it is likely that she will lack capacity around her finances when she turns 18, you are going to have the same issue with any account in her name.
But you’re not going to know that until closer to the time, unless she has a severe cognitive impairment which is apparent will not improve.
However, it’s not impossible for people to access the money at the moment. It’s just taking a long time because of court of protection delays. By the time your granddaughter is 18, there may be a different system entirely. Or the court of protection might be operating much more effectively. Or she might lack capacity around her finances, but still have  enough understanding to be able to make a power-of-attorney. It’s all guesswork at the moment.
Either way, she will be able to access the money or someone will be able to on her behalf at some point. It’s not going to be lost.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
