If ever a magazine is missed, it has to be Web User. Every issue a wealth of information, the sad thing is, nothing has replaced it.
I'm aware of Computer Active, but oh my lord, they must think everyone is a computer boffin. Not only that, so much copy is devoted to Windows.

If you know of any publication equal to Web User or an alternative to Computer Active, please share.

Failing that, if you know of any website given to providing information for laptops , (chromebooks included,) tablets, phones, then again, do share. To be able to read, learn etc for yourself, might save endless posts asking "how to do" or "what should I do? ".

Plenty of forums & u-tube that cover information on laptops etc.
As to endless posts asking "how to do" or "what should I do? "

Never going to happen. You can have as many useful sites, stickies on forums. & there will always be someone that asks the question that has been coved so many times...

Hell, Google is the best resource going & will answer everything you need.

The problem with any magazine subscription is that you either need to get the whole lot to use as a reference, or get lucky that your issue happens to be in the one you are reading.
If anything comes up I normally just ask Google or YouTube and see if something works.

Gave up on it some time ago, I used to flip through and see if there was anything to interest me before I bought it.....I ended up buying less and less until it became a distant memory...

I used to Subscribe to Webuser mag and the forum was great too (that closed down before the magazine did). It was very useful reading sometimes.

If you are signed up with your local library you may be able to get access to a wide range of magazines to download for free via Libby.

I use Libby all the time for magazines and my library includes Computer Active, PC Pro and a number of Linux magazines, the list goes on. Quite a few are also from overseas so the same title can have a different content.

Libby shows the latest editions but you can go back for months if you need to. I've gone back to some hifi magazines over 2 years old.

The downloads are for 2 or 3 weeks are a time but you can easily renew if you find one of interest. I've also taken a screenshot of an article that I really wanted to hold on to.
