The Registrar reported a bereavement using Tell Us Once approx 3 weeks ago but we've not heard back from any of the departments. Is this normal?

I don't remember hearing back from most places - in fact not sure that I heard back from any. Blue badge / passport / DVLA / NHS pension / state pension / DWP for AA / council tax (actually think CT they got in touch)1

I didn't hear back from any services and actually rang a few a month later to see if they had been informed and they had.0

We used the service a bit over a month ago and we heard back from the DVLA quickest within two weeks. We also heard back from the DWP about the pension, though we did contact them independently before using tell us once so not sure if that hurried them. I'd say that probably arrived around 3 or so weeks after phoning them up? So not especially fast really.Council Tax we had to phone up ourselves to sort out as we got no contact from them before a payment was going to be due, they did recieve the notification but they said they don't do much with it or something. Might be region specific I guess.0

Did the Registrar actually do the Tell Us Once for you? I've done it 3 times now and on each occasion, they just gave me a code on a sheet with instructions to do it myself on-line later. They didn't actually do the Tell Us Once - that was a separate stage, so just check your papers to ensure that it has been done.November2 said:The Registrar reported a bereavement using Tell Us Once approx 3 weeks ago but we've not heard back from any of the departments. Hi, yes he did it there and then. Think I'll check with a few of them in a weeks time, Council Tax and Pension.BooJewels said:

Super, if it was definitely done by them - that was never an option offered to me. In each case I think the first letter I got was from HMRC.November2 said:

We used the Tell Us Once service when my dad died seven years ago and I have nothing but praise for the service. The lady was professional and empathetic. In one visit we registered the death, did the Tell Us Once thing, obtained a bunch of certified copies of the death certificate and they were also able to sort out the council tax side of things there and then. We left with a short list of things we needed to do that are not covered by the service but it was as painless and efficient as it could possibly have been.
I'm afraid I don't recall what happened next or what further contacts there were but seven years later there has been no comeback or unexpected bills/letters.
It's a great service at a time when you are grateful for any help!1
