My Barclays Bank account is closed without explanation
Thanks BJV for your comment, I have lots of direct debits and accounts linked to my Barclays account, so it is a lot of trouble going to another new bank to be my primary bank
Banks making scurrilous accusations against their customers has to stop! It is absolutely scandalous how they behave.
The banks are required to follow the AML rules as set out by the regulator and in law, they do not make accusations. The threshold in those cases is not "beyond a reasonable doubt", or even "the balance of probabilities", it is "a reasonable prospect". They are also not required to deal with anyone and they can choose whether they wish to have a business relationship with someone or not.
Sounds at little strange banks don't normally close accounts for no reason.
Really? They are heavily overregulated and often close accounts just in case, to avoid potential problems that may never materialize. Is it really a 'reason'?
