I have just booked a 7 nights holiday in November in Tenerife.
Until a couple of months ago we have had our travel insurance included with out HSBC bank account but this as just ended because of our change of circumstances.

One of my problems is that in the last couple of weeks i have been told i will be having a medical operation for the removal of a Parathyroid which should be happening in August all being well.

I have been looking at various travel insurance companies and i am including this along with pre-existing conditions or Glaucoma & High Blood Pressure and as such most give me a price at the end which is reasonable.
Even though i tick the box to say i am awaiting a medical procedure the questionaries do not ask for details.
I have just rang on of the companies (Avanti) and after clarification they say they wont cover me for any of my conditions.
I totally understand that i may not be covered for my forthcoming procedure but the glaucoma & high blood pressure isnt something new and i was diagnosed a few years ago

Can anyone recommend any companies it might be worth talking to?
Anyone in or been in a similar position?

Try Total Travel Protection. They have covered me for all my existing conditions although I am on a waiting list for a heart procedure. I have also paid extra for waiting list cover in case I am called when I am meant to be away, or if I can't travel after the procedure.

I have an annual policy through my bank account and glaucoma (which I have had for over 20 years) is included in the list of conditions that do not need to be notified to them.

We have travel insurance with Co-op Bank Rewards Account - £15 monthly fee for the package until age 80.
High Blood pressure is accepted, no additional premium, can't comment on Gluacoma though.
I can advise the number to call for the insurers who will talk you through what's what before you apply to the Co-op.
