  • I haven't updated here in ages but thought I would pop on to say I'm still paying off the debt and the plan is to make 2 mortgage over-payments this year at some point.

  • Still making my way towards debt freedom - will be PIF by July 2025. 

    Once that's all paid off I can make a proper plan for getting this mortgage paid off.

    Why is it always 1 step forward 2 steps back. 

    Just found out today we might be getting paid off due to our roles being automated - thanks AI!

    If it does happen it's not likely to be until at least January 2027. 

    I'm gonna need to speed up the mortgage paying in preparation because if I lose this job I'll struggle to find something with the same flexibility that allows me to be home most of the week with the dogs. 

    If I end up with something that I need to be out 5 days a week I won't be able to afford to keep the dogs - absolutely no way are they going anywhere. 

    I'll need to look into takeaway deliveries or something to plan around them. 

    Seems like a forever away problem but I'm already stressing.

    Just logged into my mortgage account and I have an overpayment allowance for the year so I'm gonna try and get as close to that as possible between now and March 2026. 

    MOP Allowance - £5,000 by 31st March 2026
    Debt Free - 4th June 2025
