Long story cut short. MIL died March 2020. Her property didn't sell until Nov 22 and completed 31st March 23. The rest of her estate had been called in by Nov 20 and we had an interim payment.
The probate company we are using now appear to be holding up releasing the remainder of the estate. They passed the accounts to their internal audit team on 4th May. They then sent us accounts to sign off which were marked as audited. No communication after returning the signed accounts and when I enquired was told that auditing wasn't complete and they couldn't give a time frame for when it would be.
Any advice on what to do? I've emailed 3 times since last Friday and called but not got a response. 2 months seems a very long time to audit a straightforward estate.
