Amex outside London/cities

Just happened again today. Local cafe, amex shop small sticker on the door, didn't accept as said they've changed their payment system since put the sticker up. Not sure if it's where I live (though not rural) or where I spend money, but 50% of total spend is low compared to others on here. I really like amex, have no issues with the card or service, but might struggle to make the £3000 minimum spend at this rate. Feels like it would be easier to switch to just using one card and not have to worry.0

Or if you want to keep an Amex just change to a card which doesn't have the £3k minimum, like the Amex Rewards Credit Card, which earns 1 MR per £ spent with no minimum and no annual fee.safe_hands2 said:Just happened again today. MR can be converted directly to Avios, which can then be converted to Nectar points which gives you an effective earning rate of 0.66% if you redeem at face value at Sainsburys, Argos or Ebay - better than the 0.5% you'd get on a £3k spend with Amex Plat Cashback anyway.
(The exact same rate can also be achieved with the Barclaycard Avios no-fee card, which is issued as a Mastercard; but no harm having both.)1
