If I’ve paid some of my student loan off when I didn’t need to - can i claim those payments back?

AFAIK, only if you've paid in error because your employer got your plan wrong.
If you've made a voluntary overpayment then you can't get it back.0 -

What type of student loan is it and why do you think you didn't need to pay?
Also maybe repost on the students board for more tailored responses.
