Yesterday I faffed about a lot.Packing a small bag then moving it all to a bigger bag. Rearranging a couple of drawers. Ran some trousers through the WM and hung them out on the line. Took the lawnmower out of the back barn before deciding that the grass was too wet to cut. Doing a bit of pre-Monday banking. Then a big win, I took an old and small rucksack out to add to the CS pile and checked the pockets 😀 found two old paper fivers tucked into a wee corner.I ate up too much soup, finished off a too big piece of focaccia , shredded cooked chicken, chopped up three peppers then put them in the freezer. Put things into the car and remembered to pack the couple of presents I'm taking. This morning I'll set off on my travels. First stop today is Newcastle to stay overnight with old friends which I'm looking forward to.DP1 - it was good to read that your little one is better.Camelot - how was the evening do? Enjoy your week of grandchildren.Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Monday to all.11

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Happy travels, hope you have a good time.
It's fine at the moment, we had a few heavy showers yesterday, but no thunder. I think the forecast is the same for today. I've got a load in the wm, hope I get it dry.
Well done Floss on doing some of the walk, as long as you haven't overdone it.
Hope your mum is all right Ruby.
Sounds like you have a busy week ahead Camelot, but it sounds like a nice week as well.
Sorry to hear you're still coughing Snoozer.
This afternoon I'm going to a hospital appointment in Newcastle with a friend. She needs someone with her because her sight is not good and her usual companion for hospital appts is on holiday so she asked me.
The only thing is it's a late afternoon appointment, so I'm hoping the clinic won't be running late. I always think as the day goes on there's more potential for delays. However, it might be ok.
Thinking of our poorly people, hope everyone has a good day.
Take care folks.14 -

Happy Monday 😊
It's my last radiotherapy session today, I will take the staff something as a thank-you as they are all so kind & friendly.
I was very sensible on Saturday, I spent more time sat down chatting than on my feet, and had a lazy day yesterday. DN's show was good, the heavens opened while we were in the theatre but the roads were steaming as I drove home!
I need to do some laundry, and will also strip the spare bed. DS & DDiL have been the only overnight guests recently but it could do with freshening up before they're here on Saturday night. I will remake it at some point before then, but not today (see -taff, I am listening! 😁)
RR, hope your mum is OK

Morning All
Bright this morning but it's due to rain later. Hope you manage a dry journey Gers, have fun.
The wedding reception was good, two of us getting a bit lost in the countryside but we got there in the end. Lovely place but once you're inside you could be anywhere. Had a dance and chat with some ex (and present) colleagues but the band were too loud for proper chat. There was a stunning sunset and a dry drive home thank goodness, got in about 12.15 so a very late night for me! We did have a laugh at the buffet - one of the offerings was pasta tubes in a pastry case and must have been the dryest offering on earth.
Little one to collect this morning, nothing planned so will see what she wants to do, she will be pleased we can use the kitchen table today, no half painted doors!
Well done on the walk Floss glad you enjoyed the show.
That's very kind of you Scarlet.
You'll be looking forward to a lie in once the dog has gone home Izzy.
No washing this morning, got everything washed and dried yesterday, it was really quite warm out. The garden was tidied and the greenhouse tomatoes sorted out.
Have a happy Monday, take care. XX

Morning all
Bright and sunny here and meant to last all day and then rain tomorrow, I felt quite rough yesterday and went to bed at 8 last night I slept right through till 3 this morning and was then wide awake I managed another 1/2 hr just before the alarm went off so although I feel better I am shattered now, I would cancel todays guests but we are meeting a friend for coffee and bowling so had better not, it will be another early night tonight.
Mum has been kept in hospital we took her in Saturday morning and they tested her blood again and her thyroid level was supposed to be between 0.4 and 4 and hers was 85 😳 she takes a thyroid tablet every day but for some reason it’s stopped working, so they are keeping her in while they investigate, she is in the right place and is being looked after I will try and pop in and see her during the week.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this, I need to have a quick tidy through before my guests come.
Gers happy travels xx
Floss glad it’s the last radiotherapy for you xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning, thanks for starting and enjoy your trip Gers.Scarlet I hope your friends appt is on time and you're not too late home,it's very kind of you.Enjoy your coffee out Izzy. Our NDoor neighbours dog pulls like mad, he's about a quarter of the height and weight of ours who walks like a dream ( unless she sees a cat
)
Glad you rested up Floss & that it's your last radiotherapy.Bella- that reminds we have a floor standing fan in the loft, saw it last week during my clearout!Camelot, ugh, pasta tubes in pastry ? Sounds revoltingEnjoy your day with DGD.
Yesterday we had a nice visit up to our friends in the afternoon, sat out in their v.large garden, then back home to do the chicken dinner. DS didn't get home in time , 2 of the car club members had mechanical/battery trouble so they had to stop a couple of times. He just had some of the chicken on a sandwich when he got in. There's some leftover too which will get used up today, and some unused roast spuds.Hope you can all have a good day. It's lovely now but DH says it's going to pour down this afternoon !RRuby, cross posted so popped back to wish your DM best wishes and hope they get to the bottom of it, and hope you feel better soon, you must be tired out with the worry of it x

Morning everyone
Just a quickie to say hello as I woke very late this morning. I helped DD pull some weeds out of her garden yesterday and did too much. She made us a lovely roast pork tea which I really enjoyed.
I'm at work at lunchtime - only 2 weeks left down. I have my hours sorted for September - I'm just going to be working afternoons - it's no good saying I'll work mornings when that's when I always feel most tired.
Right, better move myself - I hope everyone has a good day today.
It's lovely and sunny here this morning though heavy showers forecast for later.12 -
Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on for a few days because I wasn't feeling great. Back to normal today though. just very tired
I don't know what's going on with the weather but its making it hard to decide what to do. I sent my DD off to nursery in shorts, sandals and a light top because it looked lovely this morning. now it says its going to be stormy
Hubby is on afternoon shift which means I don't see him this week. it'll just be a ready meal for dinner or mac n cheese with garlic bread. we'll see when i get home. Should probably do some housework as I didn't do much over the last week.
Gers - enjoy your trip
ScarlettRibbons - hope your friends appointment doesn't run over. I used to hate afternoon appointments because of this
izzybee - our dog is like that. no matter how much we tried to train her not to she would just carry on. it came in useful when we were going up steep inclines in her younger years though
Floss - well done on it being your last radiotherapy today
Camelot - sounds like a good time. those pasta pastries do sound dry lol
RedRuby - hope they manage to get your mums levels under control
Hope you all have a lovely day xWeight loss - 0/12 GC - July 142.01/£200 Happiness can be found in the darkest of places if only someone turns on the light10
