Britannia transferring my account to co-op

I have an old carpet-bagging account with Britannia. They now tell me they are transferring it to a new account with the Co-op. I don't think I have any prospect of a payout on the account now, as I believe Britannia is not even mutual any more (although correct me if I'm wrong). What's the simplest way just to close the account and withdraw my money? I don't really want to have to go into a branch.
Thanks.
Thanks.

In the wake of the GFC Britannia was rescued by Co-op Bank and there were no payouts to Britannia members. Co-op Bank was subsequently broken by Britannia and it needed rescuing as well...Chomeur said:I have an old carpet-bagging account with Britannia.
