My Canon MG7150 has stopped working with a fault showing of B200 (see below)
I’ve had a look around on the Internet and it suggested that the print head needs cleaning. I’ve removed the print head and cleaned it as described carefully using window cleaning fluid. Just in case I’ve changed all the ink carts for new ones b
ut it still shows the same error message.
I love this printer and don’t want to scrap it as I doubt I could afford to replace it.
any ideas for fixing it are welcome
TIA

Further examination shows during startup (before the error message is show) the print head assembly moves from its park position on the extreme right to the far left where it halts and gives the error message. There’s nothing blocking the movement of the print head - no scraps of paper etc.
Any ideas?0 -
Basically the printhead is deadI hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world1

B200 is not a blocked print head. It is a faulty print head. This might be of interest:

Unfortunately printers are not worth fixing generally as the replacement parts are more expensive then buying a whole new printer (not including labour too)
Have you looked on ebay , your model is 55 quid second hand, worth a look?1 -
Thanks to Neil_Jones above for this…
And for me it eventually worked! It didn’t go exactly as stated and took several tries - even at one stage the error came back, but I got rid of it in the end. Marvellous, thanks Neil for you help.Workaround for B200 Error on Canon printers
I have become fed up with the number of 'broken' Canon multifunction printers that I have come across that show the 'B200' error on the screen. I have communicated with Canon UK, Canon Europe and certain Canon engineers, all of whom can offer no credible reason for the error nor a definitive solution other than "...its possibly the power supply, buy a new one..." or "...its possibly the carriage, buy a new one..."
I have established a workaround that has put trouble free life back into many supposedly 'broken' printers.
1. Turn OFF Power
2. Open the print head bay (as though you were about to change inks)
3. Turn ON power
4. Wait for print carriage to start moving to the left and let it go past half way
5. Before print carriage reaches left hand side (but after going halfway across) shut the cover.
6. Leave the Printer turned on
7. Good to go.
(Very occasionally I have had to do this twice in a row to get past the error)0
