Help on consumer rights re. Faulty vacuum
Comments
-
UPDATE: I decided to go for the consumer rights route. I’ve just returned from Argos and, thankfully, dealt with a different lady who understood consumer law. She was altogether more pleasant to deal with and appreciated that it wasn’t reasonable to go through Vax which could take up to 12 days for resolution - by which time I’d be up to my neck in dog hairs.
I was offered a choice of refund or replacement. Given the price of the vacuum has gone up significantly in price over the past 6 months I decided to replace. I’ll be picking it up tomorrow.
I told the lady I spoke to today that her colleague from yesterday was totally incorrect about the position and tried to mislead me about my consumer rights. Her reply, to my amazement, was “ah yeah, that’s Leanne the store manager. That’s always what she says and tells customers they need a reference from the manufacturer”!I’m considering making a complaint about “Leanne” as I wonder how many people’s’ consumer rights she’s denied over the months/years.
Thank you again to all those who provided advice - very much appreciated.2
