Maybe the OP was looking for a quick answer?Doctor_Who said:Indeed, a few minutes looking through the first 10 pages of this board brought up:https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6456654/where-to-put-700k-house-sale-money/p1

Is Bernie still around? There never was a more apt surname!

Maybe they were, but with £200K to save/invest a quick answer may not be the best answer. Hopefully the OP will spend a reasonable time doing their own due diligence. This question arises often and gets a lot of answers, it probably took me less time to find the quoted links than it took the OP to write the original post. My background is university education (mostly post degree level), where teaching people how to find the answers is vastly preferable to just giving them the answers.CooperSF said:

The links you sent were outdated and while generically relevant, did not relate to my circumstances. So I guess the lesson is, just let people ask their own personal requests in the belief a perfectly intelligent person who sussed the art of research when doing his own Master's degree needs no "lessons' but rather answers. On this occasion, I couldn't find the appropriate answers/calculators that alluded to my requirements. They seemingly don't exist.Doctor_Who said:

Maybe the OP was looking for constructive answer's not your attempts at pompous superiority, that rather fell flat of poor research it seems.
Thanks to all those who were really insightful, keep up the good work on here0 -
All answers given are done voluntarily, so people are spending their own time to try and help other people with their questions. So as you are not paying for financial advice but getting it for free, then you can not really complain too much if you don't like one of the answers.peteyh said:

Also referring back to answers on previous threads that asked very similar questions can be useful, even if the situation is not identical.3 -
Please read the thread before posting ignorant comments. And you are correct this is people's time, so don't waste your own or mine with negativity.Albermarle said:

1. I have shown continued appreciation of all's responses.
2. @CooperSF commented on DR_Who's " Answer", it was not myself. So please re-direct your comments or better still don't get involved. Whereas I merely commented on his pitiful snipe and lecturing which is not constructive and should be deterred.
3. I did read prior posts, they were not wholly relevant and I have now received very helpful direction from others specific to my needs. It's not for Dr_Who and yourself to know what an OP has or hasn't done. Just walk away from your Keyboard if you don't wish to answer it's really that simple.
4. And to note alternate Forums have given totally different responses to me than this thread. There is not a one size fits all.
As said thank you to all those that really provided great insight.
