Probate referred to a specialist team

Hi all,

At week 16 of probate application and received an email that says:

Please note that your case has been referred to a specialist team. There is nothing for you at this stage. The specialist team will be in contact with you if anything further is required.

I know this isn't good news and will extend the process even more, but has anyone else had it referred and how long did it take to go through? We're all feeling so exasperated now, this process is brutal!

Is there anything out of the ordinary regarding the contents of the will or estate for it to be referred?

No reason I can think of, it's a straight forward estate. It's a large estate so did wonder if that played a part although the tax all went through quickly with no problems and the balance was paid.
