Speed awareness or points?

Hi I received a motorway speeding notification letter from the police. According to the speed I was doing, I fall within the offer a speed awareness course according to the letter, if I hadn't done a course within 3 years.

I last did such a course 7 years ago but have 3 points from autumn 2020 so just under 3 years ago.

Is it likely I'll be offered the course once I send the form back if I have points under 3 years ago? If I was getting points would it have explicitly said already? 

Are courses all online now?

Courses are in-person. My friend did one this year.   Don't know if you will be offered it, sorry!  Not the forte of the parking forum.

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for police tickets. Have a read through some of the other threads and use the NiP Wizard there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the police (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.

I'd been told that some courses are available online - might just be for those a certain distance from a site giving the course.  

And I've also been told that having done a speed awareness course (rather than taking the points) is better for your car insurance.  Maybe it's a better indicator of you realising you made a mistake and won't do so again in the future (hopefully!)
