Hi all, looking for some leads on getting a prepaid card for youth travel.
Under 18 traveling with a youth group, so needs access to own finances. Prepaid and top-upable card seems like the ideal solution…but all the travel ones I’ve tried applying for are 18+ only…anyone got any pointers?
many thanks

Rather than credit cards Check out Starling Bank. Various accounts from 6-17 and no overseas charges,1

Prepaid cards with their adverse rates and fees are best avoided.

If planning to use a ATM make sure there is a back up card or plan.
A few years ago I had one nearly swallowed at a US bank, when inside and was told if the machine swallows it they can't give it back as has to be returned to bank.
Thankfully is was just stuck in the slot, and a staff member fished it out with a pair of tweezers.
Let's Be Careful Out There0
