If you check Martin's post on this, he suggests that it will be August before most lenders are able to implement the interest only option...homesaver234 said:Nationwide's web site still says not: "And very soon, you’ll be able to choose to only pay the interest on your mortgage for 6 months."

"We’re pleased to have signed up to the charter. It means that, right now, if you’re up to date with your payments you can:
Temporarily change to interest only payments
"
