Octopus app 218.60 kWh
Hugo app 222.81 kWh
Loop app 222 kWh
Bright app 278.723 kWh

Data is missing from all apps, but Bright is the closest. Why?
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Missing data, the important bit is the reading at the start of the billing period and the one at the next bill. From the meter of course

Thank you. From 28 May to 27 June, I used 310.2 kWh according to meter readings by Octopus. Times of day not provided. But this figure is far more likely than any of the unreliable reporting from the apps.

  • For Octopus customers, an app like Octopus Watch is better than all the third-party adapter services. Octopus Watch gets its data via API from the consumer’s Octopus account. As you can see from this screenshot, there can be data loss which Octopus will attempt to recover with a further data pull before billing:

The point is the meter itself , not an app , open the cupboard and read them . Then compare with your IHD , the meter is the final judge

Not that easy when 30 minute usage data is used for billing as opposed to index readings. I am on a 3 price/period tariff on a single meter register. Gas apps will also be wrong because they use a fixed CV as opposed to a calculated industry CV.

Thank you, Dolar. I am on Flexible, so really, [as I have learned here] only the meter readings matter. However, I like to record my monthly usage accurately. I can see from Hugo that eight days are missing and with a few estimates, I need to add about 80 kWh to my 222 kWh for June.

Thank you. That is a useful lesson learned. I have asked Octopus whether they can collect the missing data.
