I've looked at the various top rate accounts and each have a bit of a drawback for me Cynergy (annual interest), Secure Trust Bank (v slow transactions, is this correct? as otherwise good terms) Yorkshire (painful additional account process) etc.

So wondering if someone could make a suggestion:

Joint Account
Good Rate not necessary top if other conditions met
Easy web based operating
Easy to upgrade from one issue to better paying one or simple EA that updates automatically
Monthly interest
Reasonable deposit-withdraw transaction timeframe (instant not essential)

Thankyou.

    Marcus satisfies all those points.

One pain imo is nominated bank account to pay in and out but may not be a problem for you.

Thanks for that OJ will look into it.
Also I think at a better rate of 4.3% Secure Trust Bank fits the bill.  I've read a few negative things about transfer timings, but looking at their website it looks reasonable.  Before 1400, same day.  Or after, next business day.  Anyone with feedback STB?

RCI has a 4.2% instand access (Freedom savings). It's easy to swap from there to their fixed rate bonds, if you want. You do need a nominated account, but otherwise they seem OK.
Aldermore was similar when i had an account a couple of years ago.

We use Ford Money and they play fair in that new and existing customers get the same rate so no need to keep changing accounts. Their rates are never quite the top but not far off.
we have been happy with them so far and keep our instant access account there
