I just started an auction to sell my campervan. Also had the van advertised on Facebook at the same time. VERY QUICKLY SOLD THE VAN on Facebook. Returned to Ebay to cancel the auction....only to find that it had been sold as Buy it Now within a few minutes of posting on Ebay. Obviously buyer not happy and very awkward and embarrasing all round. How does one resolve such a situation??? I blame my ignorance of Ebay selling. Normally not so fast but wow happenedd all at once! Thanks>

Either sake can be cancelled of course but you might get threatened with a loss of bargain claim, but realistically that is a bit of an idle threat.I would personally see what both buyers say about collecting, just test the water to see if either is a scammer then sell to other one, but do it quickly. Come back and update as soon as anything happens, the regulars on here can spot a scammer a mile off , cars and vans etc are usually the one where they want to send a man to collect and send you an escrow payment , but there are others.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Nothing to stop you cancelling either sale until the money has changed hands although you might want to check what Ebay fees would apply if you cancel - I think you would still have to pay the FVF in many cases but not sure how it works for cars/campervans.0 -
As above on making sure the deal goes through. Maybe take a screenshot of the other transaction to prove it was genuine to send to the other buyer. Apologise profusely and move on. Not much more you can do..0
