The cashback can be added when you receive it. If it's cheaper than the renewal price you would have paid - add the difference.

Ditto vouchers - when you spend them, count the savings if it's money you would have spent anywa.

need some ebay advice please :D
I advertised my old lappy on there last night on an auction but have been offered £100 incl postage to sell it and take it off auction. So what do I do now  I seem to remember that you can do a private auction - is that what I need to do and if so how ( or do I put it on a buy it now ):o and also I need to 'post' it signed for but as cheaply as possible. Does anybody know who would be cheaper ie courier or postie and if the answer is courier which one is cheaper.

Sorry for all of the questions - I would do more ebaying if it wasnt for the posting etc etc :rotfl:

thanks for the clarification Gemmzie. Ok we decided not to go through quidco for the home insurance so no cash back from that but we did pay £115 less than we would have done if we had renewed with the company we used last year. So i will add that £115 difference to my Olympic Total:D

Oops - is the auction for 7 days and do you think you will get more than £100 for it at the end of the auction? Personally I wouldn't take it off to sell privately cos you don't have the protection of paypal if it all goes wrong for some reason. I would be interested to see what the more experienced ebayers amongst us think.

  • no it isnt going to go privately - he is going to pay via paypal but I seem to remember that you can do a private sale on Ebay - ie just sell to one named person or did I just dream that up

  • well the person that is buying it has said that he puts in a leading bid of £100 then I accept the bid and presumably end the auction early and he then pays me via paypal. Will let you guys know if it all works out - didnt have a clue what my old lappy was worth so am well pleased :D

edited to add - well I sold it for £100 by the time postage, paypal and ebay fees come off that it will be about £85 but wont add it to my total till it hits my account :) out ofthe 5 items I put on Ebay, 1 got removed, 1 has sold already and out of the other 3, 2 of them have bids on already! not bad at all

  • Just a quick update from me. I am still waiting on my vouchers from pigsback and valued opinions, but I have listed a couple of things on ebay - nothing of huge value, just a few bits I wanted rid of -but hopefully that will bump up my total a bit

I listed a lot of items on eBay at the weekend got some bids and watchers. Another £20 to add as I sold a voucher I had.

I am going quite slow this month but hopefully next month I will be flying!!
