Ooh just found the thread - haven't been near a computer really the last couple of weeks.

Count me in for this challenge - going to try for Silver this time - a bit silly maybe as I didn't make bronze last time and only just made it the time before but I'm determined to be more focussed this time!

I got some mystery shopping money and sold a few things through small ads at work between the challenges so will add this as a bit extra at the end of the last one and start a fresh with this challenge on Tuesday - I'm raring to go!

  • Hi everyone, just wondering - at what point can we add the amount made on sites like 'Pigsback' and 'RPoints' to our total - is it as you accumulate points or as you convert them to vouchers / cash?

    Thanks,
    Becky

I never count anything until the money is in my bank account. I make an exception for paypal - as I can spend from there, but when I do spend paypal money I make a transfer from my current account to my savings account for that amount.
ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away :)

I always count my pigsback amount it once I have recieved the voucher and it has been transferred to cash (ie I use it for something I was going to buy anyway or swap it for cash with families/friends)

any other money such as quidco/ebay/amazon I count once the money has been transferred into my bank account and it is physical money I could spend

(if I so wished! previous challengers will remember the reluctance I had to spend my first lot of challenge money :rotfl: well it didnt feel like it was mine, I ended up saving 3 lots of challenge money and used it as spending money when I went to China this summer and still came back with some of it!)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

mickey mouse - we said the latest lot of Ebay could be included since it was so close and as you say the money won't be hitting accounts before the 8th anyway.
    Yorkielass - you'll make it this time, it's a month longer :D
Becky - as the others have said, when it's actually cash or when you use a voucher and save the cash. So you spend a £10 boots voucher, you can then add £10 cash as you would have spent it without the voucher

Ooh, I'd missed the bit about counting current Ebay sales! I suppose it takes about a week for the Paypal to hit the bank anyway.

I've got an Ebay business, which I won't be counting, but I've been trying to get rid of some personal [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] treasures as well, so I'll count that. I sold a credit note last night for £120 and I've another currently up to £220 (neither of them cost me anything in the first place!) so they'll get me off to a good start once I work out the amounts less fees etc.

Can't wait to start counting the cash!
