Received £25 compensation today from Newcastle BS after replying to their text message last week. The email reply said that the id document (photo id) can be uploaded but the email I got when applying says all documents must be sent by post!
They appear not to have a clue. I applied the following day again and was successful without id requirements. Also a note in the email that you can't have more than one account. Ha ha...Got my linked account activation code today.1 -

I applied on 28 June, received acknowledgement email and sent off scans of requested id (by post) and made initial cash deposit on the same day.
Since then, nothing.
So that's 10 (8 working) days without any communication at all.
Worthy of complaint?
Forget them, Shawbrook now offers 4.35% and the NBS tracking promise is worthless since competing banks will always match the tracked NBS rate.0 -
I opened my account on 29th June (no ID required) and my security code to verify my nominated account for withdrawals only arrived in the post today. Letter is dated 1st July though so could be Royal Mail being slow1

The big problem was, if you didn't need to provide ID, you got an email confirming your User ID fairly quickly, you then got two letters regarding your User ID & requirement to fund probably posted soon after, but the security code took an age.
Maybe they have a limit agreement on how many security codes they'll ask the post company to do, and as the issue sold out in under 2 days, it took longer to get them posted out to all?

I prefer to transfer straight to another good higher interest rate savings account as if the letter takes days to come the deal will probably be no longer available.
