How am I paying 50% more for the Standing Charge in Scotland than in Central London, when Scotland actually supplies 26% of the UK’s renewable energy & 90% of its hydroelectricity?

Many different reasons I'm sure, but the most obvious is that you need a lot more cabling to get electricity to every house in Scotland than you do to every house in London because of the population density / distances involved.

Surely, that is a question best posed to your Assembly member. All I would say is that each time a wind turbine is built or a solar farm is turned on there is a significant amount of electrical infrastructure investment needed to get the additional power to the Grid. 

I have a new solar farm being built about a mile away. Contractors have been putting in wiring; transformers etc for over 6 months: we have yet to see a single solar panel.

The is more wind in the south than Scotland, if you over build you should pay for the new lines to the south to sell it us, Its cheaper just to build near London.
