So, I'm looking for a good quality pond liner. Having done some research, it seems the best type is currently RPE (Reinforced Polyethylene). However, I can't find a supplier of that type in the UK. All my searches bring up USA suppliers.

Has anyone come across this for sale in the UK?

The next best quality seems to be HDPE, followed by EPDM.

Any thoughts on these? I would need a piece around 3.5 metres square.

Thanks.

John you've use internet searches but is there some reason for not visiting an aquatic shop. Often available in garden centers.
They sell different grades of liner and are very good with advice.

Didn't go into the detail that you have but asked about each one for the use and location and was pleased with the result.

Is there some special reason about your location and use for being so specific?

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I always thought that the best was LDPE?

I always thought that the best was LDPE?
    I found this quote:

"LDPE's main advantage over HDPE is that it's softer, more flexible, and more pliable than the denser HDPE. These qualities make it easier to fold, easier to install, and more forgiving of rough terrain. On the downside, LDPE has less tensile strength than HDPE, meaning it can tear or stretch out of shape."

twopenny: I did visit a large garden centre with lots of pond plants and some liner. They stocked only two types - HDPE and the cheapest stuff, PVC I think. Not a great range really.

I wouldn't say I have a specific need - it will be just a garden pond with a few plants in, no fish. I just want to get the best quality for it to last long without deterioration.

I'll probably end up going with HDPE

EPDM has a typical guarantee period of 25 years and a projected lifespan of 50, but we all know the Yanks have everything better than us! ;)
