Holiday rights

Hi, So I went on holiday this year in the US. The hotels were Crowne Plaza and chains like that, we didn't choose the travel agents did as part of a package.
Anyway long story short, the hotels were disgusting dirty, bedding dirty, pubes all over the bathroom. Each hotel (3 in total) were just worse each time, asked for a room change and more of the same. We complained to the package provider, he says nothing they can do. Do chargeback, rejected.
So what I would like to know is what we can do to get our money back or in regards to avoiding this happening in future? It just seems like you have no rights to do anything about it and have to suck it up and this can't be right?

Chargeback wouldn't work as the service was provided although not to your standard. As you actually stayed and had your holiday I wouldn't focus on getting a refund but a goodwill gesture of a % back or vouchers etc.
did you verbally complain or make a formal written complaint as per the company complaints policy?!0 -
It wouldn't be anyone standard it was appalling.
I complained provided proof, basically fobbed off with not our problem.0 -
Who was package provider/holiday company? Did you get photographic evidence? Did you put your complaint in writing to the company?0

Can you be more specific with the package provider. Do you have a link to their website?0

www.worldwidecruises.co.uk They provided it all flights, cruise, hotels0

They are part of Benz Travel. They are not ABTA members so you cannot use their arbitration scheme. If they ignore the issue, I suspect they bought the accommodation through a third party, but that does not absolve them of liability and had no previous experience with the accommodation, (and to give them their due, Crown Plaza Hotels are part of the IHG group and generally of a good 3-star standard), your only option is to consider a small claims application in the county court. The website to look at is Money Claim onLine0
